Privacy Statement

This statement clarifies what information we gather, what we use it for, how long we keep it and how you may access it.

What information do we gather?

We gather two types of information from the Internet.

The first is personal details volunteered by web visitors who request further information or register for an event. The details are stored in our contacts database so that we may identify who we can send relevant information to. You may opt out of receiving further information.

The second type of information is web site statistics including IP addresses (showing the network connection), pages visited and the route taken through our web site. We can also find out what browser and operating system you are using, but we cannot identify who you are from this information.

What do we use it for?

Personal details are only used for the purposes of sending you information that you request. If you want no further contact, that is fine. We do not share contact information with any other organisations.

The site statistics are gathered collectively to help us understand patterns of site access so that we can optimise the site in terms of content and design.

How long do we store the information?

Personal details are stored for up to one year before being removed from our database. After that, we assume the details are out of date and we will not contact you to verify their accuracy. If you have requested no further contact we must retain your contact record to ensure we do not send you further information.

Site statistics are only kept while they are useful. If our web site is redesigned or restructured, we gather the statistics afresh.

How do you access contact details?

You are entitled to request access to the information if you think that we hold your personal details. However, proof of identity will be required to safeguard the privacy of our contacts.

Requests for access should be directed to the data controller .
